PASTRY CHEF

Gowanus Hospitality is accepting applicants for a full time pastry chef position at our fine dining destination, Butterfield at Hasbrouck House.

Job Title: Pastry Chef | Full-Time

Start Date: Immediately

The ideal candidate is responsible, timely, detail-oriented and can work with minimal oversight to achieve goals and standards. A positive attitude and good work ethic are a must. A love for historic properties in bucolic settings is a huge plus!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating and executing exciting pastries for dinner and brunch service.

  • Assisting with pastry production for large scale events, both on and off site. 

  • Executing opening duties for kitchen and kitchen equipment with independence

  • Maintaining proper pars and stock of needed breakfast items

  • Preparing breakfast as directed 

  • Receiving orders and storing food/goods properly

  • Maintaining proper working conditions of food storage areas

  • Preparing lunch items as needed for onsite events and pool service when applicable

Requirements:

Butterfield is seeking a reliable, energetic individual to work in our fine dining restaurant.

Job Title: Food Runner | Part-Time

 

Requirements:

  • Maintain an understanding of the proper steps of service required of all FOH service positions.

  • Maintain mental athleticism for coordination with table pacing, and section maintenance in conjunction with support personnel.

  • Strong communication and listening skills to effectively deliver accurate messaging to both guests and teammates

  • Able to carry food to the table and explain what each item is if asked. Must enjoy learning about food and wine.

  • Must be able to work weekends and evenings.

  • Must be a team player.
