MAITRE D'


Butterfield is seeking an experienced and friendly Maitre d' to join our team. As a Maitre d', you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth dining experience for our guests, overseeing the floor during service, assisting the restaurant GM with administrative tasks, event support, and supervision of staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience using Resy + Toast or similar point-of-sale systems is preferred

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Strong customer service and guest relations skills

  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with grace and professionalism

  • Knowledge of phone etiquette and ability to handle phone reservations effectively

  • Familiarity with food service industry standards and practices

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Responsibilities Include:

Greet guests with a warm and friendly welcome upon arrival

  • Escort guests to their tables and present menus

  • Assist guests with seating arrangements and accommodate special requests

  • Manage the flow of guests in the dining area to ensure efficient seating

  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner

  • Assist with monitoring and updating website changes, printed menu changes, and updates to our POS system.

  • Assist with creating the FOH schedule

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host station and dining area

  • Collaborate with other restaurant staff to provide excellent customer service

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour - DOE

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week

SOUS CHEF BUTTERFIELD

Butterfield is accepting applicants for a full time Sous Chef position at our fine dining destination, Butterfield at Hasbrouck House, located in Stone Ridge, NY, 20 minutes from Kingston and New Paltz.

Job Title: Sous Chef | Full-time

Start Date: Immediately

Salary: Competitive salary based on experience

Butterfield Restaurant is a year-long, fine-dining restaurant on the property of the historic Hasbrouck House. We are actively searching for a Sous Chef to prep and assist leading dinner service as we continue to execute award-winning meals year round. Unforgettable events and catering services for both on and off-site venues are a strong part of what makes Butterfield successful, while continuing to expand culinary creations under our Executive Chef. 

Weekend and holiday availability are mandatory.

Requirements:

  • Culinary Experience: 4 years

  • Availability for nights and weekends

  • Availability for most major holidays

  • Ability to commute or relocate

 

Schedule:

  • Holidays

  • Night shift

  • Weekend availability

 

Responsibilities include:​​​

  • Training of all back of house employees

  • Training of front of house staff on food and food presentation

  • Oversight and active cleanliness of all back of house areas: kitchen,
    basement, exterior, smokehouse, Butcher and Bar and all areas where foodis present.

  • Sanitation standards to meet or exceed local health regulations

  • Preparation and execution of all menu items for all scheduled services

  • Creation of menu, including coherent food and cuisine philosophy

  • Weekly Inventory

  • Food purchasing and receiving; bar supplies as per requests made by Head Bartender.

  • Maintaining a positive, healthy and professional kitchen environment

  • Collecting and organizing all invoices and receipts for purchases

  • Food costing of individual menu items

  • Establishing and creating relationships with local farmers

  • Adherence to budgets (labor and food cost) based upon projections

  • Development of menus for special events including but not limited to wine-paired dinners, corporate retreats, pool service, room service, to-go packs and buyouts in conjunction with the General Manager

  • Oversight of all food preparation and sanitation on the Hasbrouck House property.

Job Title: Line Cook | Full-time

The ideal candidate is responsible, timely and can work well with others to achieve goals and standards.A positive attitude and good work ethic are a must. A love for historic properties in bucolic settings is a huge plus!

Responsibilities include:​​​

  • Executing opening duties for kitchen and kitchen equipment with independence

  • Maintaining proper pars and stock of needed items

  • Preparing foods for all services as directed 

  • Executing brunch and dinner service 

  • Receiving orders and storing food/goods properly

  • Maintaining proper working conditions of food storage areas

  • Participating as needed for onsite events and pool service when applicable

Job Title: Event servers, bartenders, bussers and runners

The ideal candidate should be hospitality minded and should share our love of creating exceptional guest experiences. Excellent service skills, dependability and a positive attitude are a must. A love for historic properties in bucolic settings is a huge plus!

 

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years previous experience is preferred, but we are ready and willing to train a person who is willing to learn.

  • Availability for most major holidays and weekends

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Setting up events furniture, rentals and product

  • Setting up table settings, as well as settings for stationary food and beverage service, sanitation and bars

  • Providing outstanding hospitality to our guests
